Teaching about WILDFIRE
Wildfire and land management are both complex and interconnected. To help prepare the next generation of natural resource stewards and community leaders, the Southwest Fire Science Consortium developed an educational curriculum focused on these critical topics. The Fire Ecology Learning Lab (FELL) explores the biotic communities of the Southwest, the role of fire in these ecosystems, and career opportunities in wildland fire and natural resource management. The curriculum was funded by the Joint Fire Science Program and developed in collaboration with federal and state public affairs professionals, including Fireworks managers and curriculum developers at Cerise Consulting.
